We welcome everyone to our Bible Conference. You are invited to stay after the service Friday evening for pizza and lunch will be served after the Sunday morning service.

The very first Bible Conference took place in Acts chapter 15. There was a specific issue being addressed in that Bible Conference….How much of salvation is by grace? Some men who “believed”, said it was also “Needful to circumcise them and to command them to keep the law of Moses” (Acts 15:5). That seems to make sense. After all, it is never o.k. to break any of the Ten Commandments. That is true, but the fact of the matter is we have not kept one commandment one time. John tells us, “If we say that we have no sin (noun, we always have a sinful nature), we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us” (I John 1:8). “If we say that we have not sinned (verb, with regard to any and everything we do) we make Him a liar and His word is not in us” (I John 1:10). But it is equally true that I have kept all of God’s law perfectly in the Person of my Saviour (Matt. 3:15). I do not try to keep the law, I have kept it perfectly!
To say that anything is necessary other than free and sovereign grace is a denial of grace. Law and grace are mutually exclusive. I love Peter’s answer to these men’s assertion that it was needful to keep the law. “Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples which neither our Fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they” (Acts 15:10-11). How much of salvation is by grace? From election to glorification and everything in between, every aspect of salvation is 100% grace.
Oh that God would cause this to be the theme of this Bible Conference, and every service we have. How much of salvation is by grace? All of it!

Sovereign grace o’er sin abounding
Ransomed souls, the tidings swell
‘Tis a deep that knows no sounding
Who its breadth or length can tell?

What from Christ that soul can sever
Bound by everlasting bands
Once in Him, in Him forever
None can pluck them from His hands.

Heirs of God, joint-heirs with Jesus
Long ere time its race begun
To His Name eternal praises
O What wonders Christ hath done!

On such love, my soul shall ponder
Love so great, so rich, so free
Say, while lost in holy wonder
Why, O Lord, such love to me?

(Tune: “Jesus Calls Us” p. 374)
