Sundays 9:00 am                                                                             WKYT     Channel 27-2
It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel.

To Him who found us dead in sin
And planted holy life within
To Him that taught our feet the way
From endless night to endless day.

To Him that wrought our righteousness
And sanctified us by His grace
To Him that brought us back to God
Through the red sea of His own blood.

To Him who suffered on the tree
Blessings, and praise, and glory be
To cleanse from every sinful stain
Worthy the Lamb, for He was slain.

To Him that sits upon the throne
The great eternal Three-In-One
To Him let saints and angels raise
An everlasting song of praise.

(Tune: “Doxology”)

“My son, fear thou the Lord and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change: For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?”                  - Proverbs 24:21-22

“For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect” (I Cor. 1:17).  And what are these wisdom of words that make the cross of none effect?  Let me first say that the preaching of the cross is always successful.  When wisdom of words are used it is no longer the preaching of the cross. Wisdom of words are any words used in order to make the cross more attractive or less offensive to the natural man. When the cross is packaged to make it more attractive to the consumer, it is no longer the Gospel.  It is powerless to save souls. Paul said in Romans 1:16, “I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation unto everyone that believeth.”

“Forget injustices and neglect, but never forget a kindness, nor an act of love.” I saw this on a wall.  The author, whoever he may be, touched my heart and caused me to pray, “Lord, oh help me to do just that!”  Help me to actually, absolutely blot out of my mind all unpleasantries, every bad disagreement, and remember only the good times, the kind words, and the acts of love. Let me, in reference to every injustice and neglect, like my Lord, REMEMBER THEM NO MORE!
“And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more” (Heb. 10:17).
                                                                                     - Henry Mahan

If we were asked to picture the most hideous, nasty, foul, repulsive and detestable thing we could conjure up in our minds, I am sure we could come up with some real offensive, horrendous, vile obnoxious and nauseating things.  However, I am certain that none of us would have thought of ourselves.                            - Dave Eddmenson

A genuine love for others is an evidence of redemption.  It is not the CAUSE but the SIGN, for no one sincerely loves others except he is regenerated by the Spirit of God.
The love of natural men is self-love.  I verily believe that the two strongest evidences of true salvation are love and perseverance in faith.  Oh, for a heart to love and a faith that will not fail.           – Henry Mahan

Ask your typical religious person if they are a sinner, and they will say yes, but they also believe there is some good in them, or the potential to overcome sin and be a better person. But then turn around and ask them if they are a desperately wicked, evil, God-hating, Satan worshipping, dead dog wretch and see what they say… “You better watch your mouth sir, I am nothing like that!”  Well, it is not my mouth saying it.  God says it in His written Word, which is His mouth.
Scripture paints a much different picture of the human race than what most people think.  From Jeffrey Dalmer, to Charles Manson, to Mother Theresa, to the most recent newborn infant born on this earth, Scripture describes us as having, “Thoughts of the heart only evil continually” (Gen. 6:5)….. “Being evil” (Matt. 7:11)…. “Dead in trespasses and sins” (Eph. 2:1)….. “Enmity against God” (Rom. 8:7)… “None righteous, none that understandeth, none that seeketh after God, none that doeth good, no, not one” (Rom. 3:10-12).
They religious will reply, “I am not that bad”, but the believer replies, “That is just the tip of the iceberg, the half has not been told.”  I whole-heartedly confess that every verse of Scripture from Genesis to Revelations that describes any wicked thought, word, or action is an accurate description of me in the flesh. I am a perfect example of God’s description of a sinner in Scripture.  But I also am a perfect example of a sinner clinging to the righteousness and shed blood of my Savior, begging God’s mercy on me for Christ’s sake.        - Brian DuFour

Romans 9:16-18
If you receive the Bible as the Word of God, you have no choice; you must believe the doctrine of election.  If you believe the Bible, you have to take it all as the Word of God.  You cannot say, “I believe what the Bible teaches about heaven; but I just cannot accept the idea of hell.”  You cannot say, “I believe in God; but I simply cannot believe in election.”  Election is so much a part of Divine Truth, that it cannot be expunged from the Book Of God without completely destroying the Word of God.  It is taught in Genesis, in Revelation, and everywhere between.  To deny the doctrine of election is to deny the Word of God, reject the religion of Jesus Christ, and to engage in the practice of utter atheism; for the denial of election is the denial of the God of election!
Yes, you read that right.  I said the denial of election is a denial of God!  It is a denial of His sovereignty.  It denies that God has the right to do with His own what He will.  Those who deny election deny God’s government of the world and His right to govern.               – Don Fortner
