It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel

The Saviour calls, let every ear
Attend the heavenly sound
Ye doubting souls, dismiss your fear
His grace does yet abound.

For every thirsty, longing heart
Here streams of bounty flow
And life and health and bliss impart
To banish mortal woe.

Ye sinners, come; ‘tis mercy’s voice
The gracious call obey
Mercy invites to heavenly joys
And can you yet delay?

Dear Saviour, draw reluctant hearts
To Thee let sinners fly
And take the bliss Thy love imparts
And drink, and never die.

(Tune: “O For a Thousand Tongues” p.46)

“Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.” - Proverbs 12:1

Eight times in I John we are told to abide in Christ. In Christ is a place. You were in a place when you were in the ark, in the house with the blood over the door, or in the city of refuge. To abide in Christ is a conscious and intelligent desire to be found only in Christ. “Oh that I may win Christ and be found in Him.” If there was a room that in it was sinless perfection, nothing but pleasure, beauty, good food, good friends, perfect security, perfect satisfaction, with each moment being better than the last and if outside of that room there was nothing but pain and wrath…. you would never want to leave that room. At all times the believer wants to abide in Christ, so that all God sees when He sees me is Christ, and me in Christ. In Christ is a big place. “In Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and you are complete in Him.”
Why would we ever want to be anywhere else? The fact of the matter is, if we are believers, we do not!

No one is saved who does not continue in the faith. Christ has saved us “If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the Gospel, which ye have heard” (Colossians 1:23).
What then does it mean to continue in the faith? It means to continue trusting Christ to be all of your salvation just like you did when you came to Him for mercy the very first time. God freely gave mercy. We don’t continue to receive mercy because we start to earn it somehow. No, we continue to receive mercy because God continues to freely give it. We first came to Christ in faith. We don’t ever get so smart that we begin to walk by sight. A believer first came to Christ out of a great sense of need. A believer keeps coming to Christ because we never get over our great need of Him. “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him” (Colossians 2:6). – Frank Tate

A faulty message will produce faulty methods, and a man-centered message will produce man-pleasing methods. If God’s glory is not our aim, then man’s approval will be. For these reasons and more, we preach the Gospel, which is the power of God, and keep our methods in line with that Gospel. - Paul Mahan

Everything that happens is according to the permissive will of our Lord Jesus Christ, for His glory and for our good. Knowing this, we should NEVER allow the actions of others to offend us. – Gene Harmon

“Their rock is Not as our Rock” – Exodus 32:31
The rock of unbelievers is not as our Rock. He is nothing more then the figment of their imaginations. He is like the sand and those who trust in him shall eventually be put to shame. Those who trust in the Rock, the Lord Jesus Christ, will not be put to shame. “Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed” (Romans 10:11). When all men are gathered before the throne of judgment those who are washed in His blood, and clothed with His righteousness will not be ashamed.
One of the many ways in which their rock is not as our Rock is that our Rock is immutable. He changes not. Job declared, “He is in one mind, and who can turn Him?” What He purposed and all He purposed does surely come to pass the way He purposed. Paul wrote, “For of Him and through Him, and to Him, are all things: to Whom be glory for ever.” There has never been nor can there be a cause for Him to change His purpose. He ordains the means as well as the end. “For God is the King of all the earth” (Psalms 47:7).
He purposed to save a people who are referred to as His people. “Thou shalt call His name JESUS; for He shall save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). They are His people in the sense that He loves them with an everlasting love, they are His people in the sense that He redeemed them with His blood, and they are His people in the sense that He calls them and they believe His Gospel.
“On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand.”
- David Pledger

I would like to say that I have now served the Lord Jesus Christ for about forty years, and I have preached His Gospel, I can say, with all my heart, neither have I cared for anything but to win souls to my Lord Jesus: but when I came to Him at first, I had no hope but in His blood and merits, and I have no more hope now, apart from His blood and merits, than I had at the beginning. I stand on the same foundation as I stood upon then. - C. H. Spurgeon

Either all for whom the Lord Jesus Christ made atonement at Calvary shall be saved by the merit and efficacy of that atonement, or none will. If any perish for whom Christ died, His death is meaningless and He is a failure. - Don Fortner

An old preacher once said, “If you wish to be disappointed, look at others, if you wish to be disheartened, look at yourself, if you wish to be encouraged, look to Jesus Christ.”
