Sundays 9:00 am WKYT Channel 27-2
It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel
HYMN OF THE DAY
Now may the Lord reveal His face
And teach our stammering tongues
To make His Sovereign, Reigning grace
The subject of our songs.
No sweeter subject can invite
A sinner’s heart to sing
Or more display the glorious right
Of our exalted King.
Grace reigns to pardon crimson sins
To melt the hardest hearts
And from the work it once begins
It never once departs.
‘Twas grace that called our souls at first
By grace thus far we’re come
And grace will help us through the worst
And grace will take us home.
(Tune: “Alas! And Did My Savior Bleed?” p. 110)

“Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.”
- Proverbs 10:12
“Though ye be established in this present Truth” – II Peter 1:12
“I used to be a totally depraved sinner – but I am not that way presently.” This is not the believer’s experience. I am presently totally depraved and it is the holy nature I presently possess that sees that. The doctrine of election is not merely something I learned in the past. I presently need for God to freely choose me. I presently need the effectual, atoning blood of Christ. I presently need the irresistible grace of the Holy Spirit. I presently need to be kept and preserved by the power of God through faith unto salvation. I presently need His intercession. It was the church at Sardis who lived in the past. And look at Christ’s assessment of them… “Thou hast a name that thou livest and art dead” (Rev. 3:1). All Gospel Truth is in the present. It if is not, I become like the church at Sardis – dead!
LIKE A CHILD
“Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”
– Matthew 18:3
One of the wonderful and amazing things about little children is their implicit trust and confidence in their parents. They only need a simple statement or promise from Mom or Dad as the foundation of that trust and confidence. Lengthy explanations are not required nor asked for. Simply make them a promise and sincere belief and trust springs up in their hearts. How is this manifest? They follow Mom and Dad around, living on that promise, continually reminding them of it, and awaiting its fulfillment!
Is not that the way the children of God live before their heavenly Father? “These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth” (Hebrews 11:13). - Maurice Montgomery
A man’s free-will cannot cure him even of a toothache or a sore finger, and yet he madly thinks it is in his power to cure his soul of sin. Actually, the greatest judgment which God Himself can in this present life inflict upon a man is to leave that man in the hand of HIS OWN BOASTING FREE-WILL! Look where you will, and you will generally find that free-willers are not free-givers nor are they free-forgivers, but are very free-livers! - Agustus Toplady
THE BASICS ABOUT BAPTISM
1. WHAT IS BATISM? It is an ordinance of God (one of only two, the Lord’s supper being the other) given for a confession of faith and a symbol of salvation through the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ (Mark 16:16; Col 2:12; Rom. 6:3). 2. WHO IS TO BE BAPTIZED? Not infants and not unbelievers. Believers only should be baptized; all those who believe with all their heart that “Jesus is the Son of God” should not be hindered (Acts 8:26-38). 3. WHY SHOULD ALL BELIEVERS BE BAPTIZED? Primarily because Christ commands it! It is not optional but simply a matter of obedience to our Lord. Consequently, it is also encouraging to the new believer who is being baptized and edifying to the rest of the church (Matt. 7:21-23; Matt. 10:32-33; Rom. 10:9-10).
4. WHEN SHOULD BELIEVERS BE BAPTIZED? A very singular answer here – immediately! Upon bowing in faith to the Lordship of Christ (Acts 2:38-41; Acts 9:18; Acts 16:31). 5. HOW SHOULD BELIEVERS BE BAPTIZED? The word “baptize” is not a complicated word; it means “to dip or plunge into”, thus, immersion is the ONLY mode of baptism. Also, this was the method used by our Lord Himself and the Apostles. – Bruce Crabtree
“Salvation is of the Lord!” It was purposed by God the Father for those He chose in Christ before this world was created. It was accomplished by the perfect redeeming work of Christ our Savior, the eternal Son of God, when He died on that cross in our room and stead 2,000 years ago. This unspeakable gift, this glorious salvation, is revealed to God’s chosen people by the sovereign, life-giving power of God the Holy Spirit under the preaching of His Gospel. – Gene Harmon
We believe, that the work of regeneration, conversion, sanctification and faith, is not an act of man’s free will and power, but of the mighty efficacious and irresistible grace of God. – Copied
When Paul spoke of the offence of the cross the word is where we get the word scandal from. I am sure every believer feels this way. The greatest scandal is that I will be in heaven!
