Sundays 9:00 am WKYT Channel 27-2
It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel

Join, all who love the Saviour’s Name
To sing His everlasting fame
Great God! Prepare each heart and voice
In Him forever to rejoice.

In Him my blessings all contained
By Him my feeble soul’s sustained
From Him I all things now receive
Through Him my soul shall ever live.

He is my strength and righteousness
He is my refuge in distress
On Him I cast my every care
Like Him one day I shall appear.

Praise Him in cheerful, grateful songs
To Him our highest praise belongs
‘Tis He who does our heaven prepare
Of Him we’ll sing forever there

(Tune: “Doxology”)

“The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the Lord.” - Proverbs 19:3

More and more I am made aware of the importance of worship, prayer, Bible study, and the fellowship of other believers during our earthly journey. “Then they that feared the Lord spake OFTEN one to another: and the Lord hearkened and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon His Name” (Malachi 3:16). I need Him, His Word, and His people! By His grace, I shall NOT forsake the assembly of believers for any reason; and being like Joshua, the spokesman for my family, I can say, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” To be involved with this world in such a way that week after week, Sunday after Sunday passes without worship, instruction in righteousness and fellowship with other believers is UNTHINKABLE! Such would be a miserable existence for His sheep. - Henry Mahan

People always have a reason when they leave the church. Perhaps they disagree with the lifestyle or conduct of other members - on the very surface that is seeing the splinter in your brother’s eye and not seeing the log in your own. Or there are doctrines preached that they do not agree with. But do you know that the only reason to leave a church is because the Gospel is not preached! If the Gospel is preached and you leave the church, there are no good reasons. I am not talking about people moving and going to other Gospel churches. But if we stop attending for any other reason than the Gospel is not being preached, our reasons are wrong.

Worship is ascribing to God His worth. When Abel came before God, he ascribed to Him His worth. ‘You are so Holy the only way I can be accepted by You is through the substitutionary sacrifice of the coming One whom this Lamb represents.’ That is worship. When Cain brought the fruit of the ground, he demonstrated his disregard for the holiness of God. There was no worship. God had respect to Abel and his offering. He had not respect for Cain and his offering.

Everyone who believes that man’s will is the deciding factor in salvation gives man’s will the ultimate glory in salvation. Such thinking is repugnant to all who have been saved by the grace of God in Christ Jesus. He gets all the glory!

By C. H. Spurgeon
Remember, sinner, it is not YOUR HOLD of Christ that saves you; IT IS CHRIST! It is not YOUR JOY IN THE LORD THAT SAVES YOU; it is Christ. It is not even FAITH in Christ, though that is the instrument; IT IS CHRIST’S blood and merit which saves! Therefore, look not to your hope, but to Christ, the source of hope; look not to faith, but to Christ, the author and finisher and object of faith. There is one thing which we all of us too much becloud in our preaching, though we do it unintentionally – namely, the great truth that it is not prayer, it is not faith, it is not our doings, it is not our feelings upon which we rest, but upon the Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone.
Some are apt to think that they are not in aright state, or that they do not feel enough instead of remembering that OUR BUSINESS IS NOT WITH SELF, BUT WITH CHRIST! Let me beseech you – look only to the Redeemer; never expect deliverance from self, from ministers, nor from any means of any kind apart from the Lord Jesus. Keep your eye on Christ. Let His death, His sufferings, His merit, His glories, His intercession be fresh upon your mind when you wake in the morning and when you life down at night.

“A very wretch, Lord, I should prove
Had I no love for Thee
Rather than not my Saviour’s love
O may I cease to be.”

Divine grace is the sovereign and saving favor of God exercised in the bestowment of blessings upon those who have no merit in them and for which no compensation is demanded from them. Nay, more: it is the favor of God shown to those who not only have no positive deserts of their own, but who are thoroughly ill-deserving and hell-deserving. It is completely unmerited and unsought, and is altogether unattracted by anything in or from or by the objects upon which it is bestowed. Grace can neither be bought, earned, nor won by the creature. If it could be, it would cease to be grace. When a thing is said to be of ‘grace’ we mean that the recipient has no claim upon it, and that it was in nowise due him. It comes to him as pure charity and, at first, unasked and undesired.
