It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel.

HYMN OF THE DAY
O, blessed God how kind, are all Thy ways to me
Whose dark, benighted mind, was enmity with Thee
Yet now subdued by sovereign grace
My spirit longs for Thine embrace, My spirit longs for Thine embrace!

How precious are Thy thoughts, that o’er my spirit roll
They swell beyond my faults, and captivate my soul
How great their sum, how high they rise
Can ne’er be known beneath the skies, Can ne’er be known beneath the skies!

Preserved by Jesus when, my feet made haste to hell
And there should I have gone, but Thou dost all things well
Thy love was great, Thy mercy free
Which from the pit delivered me, Which from the pit delivered me!

Before Thy hands had made, the sun to rule the day
Or earth’s foundation laid, or fashioned Adam’s clay
What thoughts of peace and mercy flowed
In Thy great heart of love, O God, In Thy great heart of love, O God!

A monument of grace, a sinner saved by blood
The streams of love I trace, up to the fountain – God
And in His sovereign counsels see
Eternal thoughts of love to me, Eternal thoughts of love to me!

(Tune: “Arise My Soul, Arise”)

“A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; and a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue.” - Proverbs 17:4

“Who shall ascend unto the hill of the Lord, and who shall stand in His holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul to vanity, nor sworn deceitfully” - Psalm 24:3,4
The only people that will be in heaven are people that fit that description perfectly. Are there people like that? Yes! Every believer! That is how real justification is. The fine linen clean and white is called the righteousness of the saints. My hands are as clean as Christ’s and my heart is as pure as Christ’s. “As He is, so are we in this world.” While I cannot see this by looking upon my hands and inside my heart, I know it is the truth regarding me by faith…. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).

It has been stated that preaching God’s absolute sovereignty in all things and denying men having a free will reduces men to puppets on God’s string, merely acting out what He has predetermined for them to do. But in reality, denying God’s absolute sovereignty and preaching man’s free will makes God a puppet on man’s string. Such thinking exposes the arrogance and wickedness of men! Thank God, God is absolutely sovereign in all things and His will is sovereign over man’s will. “The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: He turneth it whithersoever He will.” (Proverbs 21:1)

The Importance Of Fruit
“Every branch in Me that beareth not fruit He taketh away.” Some say this refers only to those in Him by profession only. The reason they bear no fruit is because they are not truly connected to the vine. But the Lord does not say that. He says, “Every branch in Me.” But the fruit of the Holy Spirit is not apparent. There seemingly is no growth in grace. It seems that they go backwards rather than forward. What does He do with them? “He takes them away.” What all does that mean? I am not sure. But I know that Paul told the Corinthian church to pray that the man who was committing sexual sin with his father’s wife might be “taken away from among you.” What all does that mean? I don’t know, but it sure does not sound good! What am I to learn from this? Do not misunderstand the importance God places upon fruit. “Herein is My Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit.”
Pride is a groundless thing. We have reasons for almost everything, but we have no reason to be proud. Pride should be unnatural to us, for we have nothing to be proud of. Our CREATION ought to humble us, for we are frail creatures who are here today and gone tomorrow. Our IGNORANCE should be sufficient to lay us low. We spend a lifetime trying to learn a few things in part; then in old age, we can’t remember where we left our glasses. Our SINS should lay us in the dust, for it would be embarrassing for the most trusted friend to view our hearts. Our BLESSINGS ought to humble us; for the more we have, the more we are in debt to God who makes us to differ. A great debtor has no cause for pride. Certainly a believer has no cause for pride, for our SALVATION is all of grace! Mephibosheth accurately summed up our confession, “What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?” Let us pray to be delivered from pride, for it is such a subtle enemy that only the Lord can deliver us; but we MUST be delivered, for God resisteth the proud and giveth grace to the humble. – Pastor Henry Mahan

Many times when I have spoken to someone about the electing grace of God, the response has been, “I believer in WHOSOEVER WILL.” I suppose that such a response is meant to imply that these two Bible teachings are mutually exclusive of one another or perhaps even diametrically opposed. Everyone who preaches the electing love of God believes that THE ELECT WILLINGLY COME TO CHRIST! The fact is that not only do I believe WHOSOEVER WILL, I know WHO they are! Our Lord said, “ALL that the Father giveth to Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:37). Our Lord said, “It is written in the prophets, and they shall all be taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and learned of the Father, cometh unto Me” (John 6:45). Our Lord said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:27). The heavenly Father said to His beloved Son, “Thy people shall be willing in the day of Thy power” (Psalm 110:3). Who will come to Christ? Those who have been given to Christ, taught of the Father, and made willing in the day of our Lord’s power. They are His sheep! - Pastor Tim James

Remember, sinner, it is not THY HOLD of Christ that saves thee – it is Christ; it is NOT EVEN FAITH in Christ (though that is the instrument) – it is Christ’s blood and merits; therefore, look not to thy hope, but Christ, the source of thy hope; look not to thy faith, but to Christ, the author and finisher of thy faith….. - C. H. Spurgeon
