Sundays 7:00 am Channel 27 WKYT
It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel.
HYMN OF THE DAY
Chief of sinners though I be
Jesus shed His blood for me
Died that I might live on high
Lived that I might never die
As the branch is to the vine
I am His and He is mine.
Oh the heights of Jesus’ love!
Higher than the heav’ns above
Deeper than the depths of sea
Lasting as eternity
Love that found me – wondrous thought
Found me when I sought Him not.
Jesus only can impart
Balms to heal the smitten heart
Peace that flows from sin forgiv’n
Joy that lifts the soul to heav’n
Faith and hope that walk with God
In the way that Enoch trod.
Chief of sinners though I be
Christ is All in All to me
All my wants to Him are known
All my sorrows are His own
Safe with Him from earthy strife
He sustains the hidden life.
Oh, my Savior, help afford
By Thy Spirit and Thy Word!
When my wayward heart would stray
Keep me in Thy narrow way
Grace in time of need supply
While I live and when I die.
(Tune: “Rock of Ages” p. 126)

“Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them. For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.”
- Proverbs 24:1-2
“CHRIST IS ALL IN ALL”
Christ is All that God is - All in the meaning of every Bible story - All in every doctrine - All in salvation. Christ is All whether we perceive it or not. But to those who perceive that He is All - He is All they have, All they need, and All they want. Truly, Christ is All.
THE OLD STORY IS FOREVER NEW
“To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not tiresome, but for you it is safe” (necessary) (Philippians 3:1). We never grow weary of preaching the Word of our Lord, the Gospel of His grace; and we never tire of gathering together in His name to worship, pray, and fellowship with His people. The old story is forever NEW; and the familiar Scriptures are fresher and sweeter with every taste.
1. To often hear His Word preached is to keep our hearts and minds on Christ, the fountain of life.
2. To often hear His Word preached is a safeguard against false doctrine and false teachers. An untaught child is more easily led astray than one “taught of God.”
3. To often hear His Word preached guards against self-righteousness. There is little danger of a person who is often in the presence of HIS HOLINESS seeing any merit in himself.
4. To often hear His Word preached refreshes our spirits, brings peace to our hearts, and beauty to our countenances. One can look at flowers and readily see which flowers are most often watered! - Henry Mahan
When Satan tempted Eve, he did not begin with open error. He did not begin with an open rejection or denial of what God said. Eve would have never allowed that. He began with a slight modification of what God said. “Hath God said you shall not eat of every tree.” No, God said there was only one tree which they were forbidden to eat from. But through that slight modification the door was opened for a complete denial of what God said, “Ye shall not surely die.” Big errors always begin small. And small errors always turn into big ones! The only way to prevent this is to believe exactly what God says and reject even the slightest deviation from it! In reality, little errors are like little sins. There is no such thing!
“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you, but rejoice.”
I Peter 4:12-13
If God has given you the privilege and opportunity to go through difficult and heavy trials, then you ought to make the most of that privilege and opportunity to glorify Him by being in subjection to Him, because it might only happen once in a lifetime. We don’t desire to have severe trials nor do we pray for them. I don’t know what I would do should a severe trial come my way but I know what I ought to do! I ought to bless, thank, and worship God, because it came from God! And I ought to conduct myself in such a way under this difficulty that the people of God who love me and who I love, would say, “This thing called grace really works!” In my experience I have seen so many people that had the opportunity and privilege afforded them by the hand of God to react during trail in such a manner that would display what they say they have experienced, and they miss that opportunity. It’s one thing to talk of Calvinism, its one thing to talk of how sovereign God is, but it’s another thing to actually submit ourselves to the Lord of sovereignty. – Scott Richardson
It is not true faith to trust Christ only when you feel you are saved. True faith is to trust Christ at all times, whether you feel like you are saved or not; when you have assurance of faith and when your faith is so weak you wonder if you have faith at all. A person is not saved because he feels saved nor because he is aware of his sinfulness. A person is saved when he trusts Christ – His blood for redemption and forgiveness of sin, His righteousness for acceptance with God; when he commits all to Him as the “Author and finisher of our faith.” Our feelings may change by the hour, but our salvation is not dependent on our feelings; it is dependent solely on Him who never changes – “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever!”
- Charles Pennington
You may impose all sorts of rules, regulations, requirements, rituals, and organizations on churches and individuals, but if the Lord does not have their hearts, it is all futile. However, a heart devoted to Christ is a heart in love; and true love needs none of these things. “I am His, and He is mine.” - Henry Mahan
