Sundays 7:00 am Channel 27 WKYT
It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel.

Glory to God on high
Let praises fill the sky!
Praise ye His Name
Angels His Name adore
Who all our sorrows bore
And saints cry evermore
“Worthy the Lamb!”

All they around the throne
Cheerfully join in one
Praising His Name
We who have felt His blood
Sealing our peace with God
Spread His dear Name abroad
“Worthy the Lamb!”

To Him our hearts we raise
None else shall have our praise
Praise ye His Name
Him our exalted Lord
By us below adored
We praise with one accord
“Worthy the Lamb!”

(Tune: “Come Thou Almighty King” p.6)

“Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.” – Proverbs 23:4

“Straight is the gate and narrow is the way that leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Matthew 7:24). These are the words of the Lord Jesus Christ. Many attempt to make the way wider than it is in order to accommodate their lifestyle or to avoid persecution. Some attempt to make it more narrow than it is to justify and vindicate themselves in their self-righteous refuge. But there it stands. There is the broad way that leads to destruction with a huge crowd on it. There is the narrow way that leads to life with only a few on it. It is the way of Christ alone. Which way are you on?

When Christ walked upon this earth, men hated Him. Does not the cross speak loudly of how men hated the Christ? But there is a Jesus men do not hate. It is the Jesus that men believe they can control. The one whose will can be thwarted by our will. The one whom men can accept or reject. The one who cannot save unless we of our own free will allow Him to save us. Nobody hates a Jesus they can control. The problem is – that Jesus is an idol invented by men to take the place of the Lord Jesus Christ that they hate. He is the One who has sovereign control over all. The One over whom men have no control. The Lord Jesus Christ, in whose hand all men are. The One who can accept or reject us. This Jesus men hate because they see no safety in salvation being in His hands. But in reality, the only place of safety is in the hands of the sovereign Christ.

II Corinthians 11:4
“For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received,
or another gospel, which ye have not accepted.”
From time to time there arises a debate on what constitutes “another gospel.” We all know that there are differences between true and honest believers over various doctrines. When do these differences cross the line from mere differences to heresy? When must we cry, “That is another gospel!”? The answer is so simple that there should never again be a debate on the issue. It is “another gospel” when the message is of “another Jesus”! This is the only issue worth dividing over, and on this issue we must divide with all who disagree. Who is the true Jesus? Of all the adjectives I could use to describe our Lord in the Gospel, the one that seems most fitting to me is “The successful Jesus”. The true Jesus is the one who “By Himself (actually did) purged our sins (Hebrews 1:3), the one in whose hand the will of Jehovah prospered (Isaiah 53:10),the one who is the Word from God that does not return to God empty but actually accomplishes what God sent Him to do (Isaiah 55:11), the one who has already successfully “Obtained eternal redemption for us” (Hebrews 9:12). That Jesus, and only that Jesus is the Jesus of the Gospel! Other Jesuses may be very nice and kind; they may fill your heart with warmth and your eyes with tears, but they cannot save your soul! Only the Jesus of definite, successful, and therefore, particular redemption can deliver your soul to God without spot or blemish. Trust Him and tolerate no other! Fix your soul fast to Him and your soul shall live! Trust any other Jesus and you shall perish. – Joe Terrell

Free grace no more makes a person want to sin than health makes a person want to get sick again. The notion of sovereign grace giving people a license to sin is the foolish excuse of Pharisees who are not willing to give up their own righteousness. God forbid such talk. – Paul Mahan
