Sundays 7:00 am Channel 27 WKYT
It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel.

Lamb of God! Our souls adore Thee
While upon Thy face we gaze
There the Father’s love and glory
Shine in all their brightest rays.

Lamb of God! Thy Father’s bosom
Ever was Thy dwelling place
His delight, in Him rejoicing
One with Him in power and grace.

Oh, what wondrous love and mercy
Thou didst lay Thy glory by
And for us didst come from Heaven
As the Lamb of God, to die!

Lord, we own, with hearts adoring
Thou hast loved us unto blood
Glory, glory everlasting
Be to Thee, Thou Lamb of God!

(Tune: “Jesus Calls Us” p.374)

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” - Proverbs 18:10

Have you ever feared the knowledge you have of the Gospel is nothing more than head knowledge? Giving assent to certain propositions and believing them the way you believe in historical figures and events. I can really believe the people were real and the events really did take place. But they have little or no effect on my heart or life. Or is my knowledge saving knowledge, having as its source revelation from God. That question can be answered by what does your knowledge make you do? Does it make you look to Christ? Does it make you confess your sin and sue for mercy? Does it inflate you or deflate you? Does it cause you to cry with the publican of old, “God, be merciful to me the sinner”? It if does not do that, it is not saving knowledge. It if does do that, “Blessed art thou – Flesh and blood hath not revealed that to thee, but My Father which is in heaven.”

When William Carey announced that he wished to go overseas to preach to the heathen, a pastor replied, “Young man, if God wishes to save the heathen, he will do it without you!” What a bad spirit and error! Yes! God can accomplish His purpose and save His people WITHOUT ME and WITHOUT YOU; but he will use SOMEONE to preach the Word, SOMEONE to send the messenger, and SOMEONE to pray for and support His servant. I want that someone to be you and me! What a privilege and joy to have something to do with His glorious purpose to glorify Christ in calling out a people. Today, pray for your pastor as he preaches, encourage and support the missionaries, invite someone to hear the Word, give out a tape or book, and let us be about our Father’s business.
- Henry Mahan

I believe that the man who is not willing to submit to the electing love and sovereign grace of God has great reason to question whether he is a Christian at all; for the spirit that kicks against that is the spirit of the unhumbled, unrenewed heart. - C. H. Spurgeon
1. It is above our understanding. “Clouds and darkness are round about him.” We talk about the mystery of providence and it is, because it is above and beyond our understanding. “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!” (Romans 11:33)
2. It includes all things. Nothing is exempted. It is preventive, permissive, directive, determinative, and has as its object: GOD’S GLORY!
3. It is most assuring. “Let the earth rejoice.” Dear child of God take both comfort and courage: “Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.” (I Peter 5:7) - David Pledger

Don’t ever preach to me that the salvation of my soul is left up to my will or my choice! That kind of preaching denies the plain teaching of Scripture, which says all men are nothing but sin. Man’s sinful will always chooses the way of the destruction of the soul not the salvation of the soul. Luke 23:25 shows us that the will of man is to try to put God off the throne by crucifying the Lord Jesus Christ. God deliver me from my will! Oh God, give me a new heart and a new will! Save me against my will with my full consent. Save me by grace through Your Almighty will! Don’t let my will be done. Let Thy will be done! - Frank Tate

By nature and by practice so far
How very far from God
Yet now by grace, brought nigh to Him
Through faith in Christ’s blood.

So near, so very near to God
I cannot nearer be
For in the person of God’s Son
I am as near as He.

So dear, so very dear to God
More dear I cannot be
The love wherewith He loves His Son
Such is His love for me!
