Sundays 7:00 am Channel 27 WKYT
It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel.

Dear Lord, to us assembled here
Reveal Thy glorious face
While we by faith, with love and fear
Approach Thy Throne of Grace.

Thy house is called the house of prayer
A solemn, sacred place
O, let us now Thy presence share
While at Thy throne of Grace.

With holy boldness may we come
Though of a sinful race
Thankful to find in Christ there’s room
Before Thy Throne of Grace.

We bless Thee for Thy love and grace
We bless Thee for Thy peace
And we do bless Thee, Lord, because
There is a Throne of Grace.

(Tune: “Jesus The Very Thought” p. 58)

“All the ways of man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth the spirits.” - Proverbs 16:2

Perhaps the two greatest false refuges that men tend to hide in are yesterday and tomorrow. We look to something we did, felt, or experienced in the past to give us some assurance that it is well with out souls today. That is a false refuge! That is looking to self instead of looking to Christ only. Faith in Christ is always in the present! The other false refuge is tomorrow. I will _____________ tomorrow. Tomorrow has to do with our intentions. Yesterday and tomorrow are about what I have done or intend to do. Both are contrary to resting in Christ. Both are false refuges!

Jude tells us, “It was needful for me to write to you and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith that was once delivered unto the saints.” The reason it is needful is that Jude knows that our flesh will find 1001 reasons not to. We don’t want to be perceived as argumentative or contentious. We grow weary of conflict. We do not want to appear to always be negative. Need I go on? These thoughts have crossed all of our minds. That is why Jude knew we needed to be encouraged in this. He knew that Satan would not grow weary in this battle. Satan will continually seek to chip away at “The faith once delivered.” The faith was delivered to the Saints, as a mailman delivers a letter. The content of the faith is in all the pages of the Bible. None of it can be left out! It was “Once delivered.” That means there is a perpetual validity to this message. No additions, subtractions, or modifications are needed. And we are commanded to earnestly content for it. If you love somebody, you will speak in their defense if they are slandered. We love the object of “The Faith”, the Lord Jesus Christ, and cannot bear when people say that which is derogatory to Him!

The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is profoundly mysterious. It reveals subjects such as the Trinity; God is one God in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It reveals the believer’s eternal union with the Lord Jesus Christ. We have always been united to Him. It tells us how a guilty sinner can be without guilt before God. These are just a few of the profound mysteries which could never have been known unless God was pleased to make them known in His Word. These mysteries are not so much explained and understood, but declared and believed. “Great is the mystery of Godliness: God was manifest in the flesh” (I Timothy 3:16).

“It shall be well with the righteous” – Isaiah 3:10
In spiritual things - all your temptations, all your darkness, all your wanderings - God will overrule. It shall be well with you. There shall never be a night, but that morning shall come; there shall never be a day of trouble, but a day of prosperity shall follow; there shall never be an emptying, but there shall be a filling; there shall never be a bringing down, but that He will raise you up again. Let it be either darkness or light, sorrow or grief, night or day, life or death, time or eternity, “It shall be well with the righteous.”
- Pastor Scott Richardson

To speak what I do NOT believe is hypocrisy. NOT to speak what I do believe is cowardly. To speak what I believe only when and where I know it will be received is deceitful. – Pastor Henry Mahan

The grace of God influences both the understanding and the affections. Warm affections without knowledge, can rise no higher than superstition; and that knowledge which does not influence the heart and affections will only make a hypocrite. - John Owen

Christ’s death is not a pattern but a payment. His death is not an example but an atonement. His death does not revive us but it redeems us. Our problem is with the Law and with the Holy Justice of God, and we cannot go free until someone pays that sin debt before a Holy God. Now God can receive us and pardon us because the Lord Jesus Christ paid our sin debt to whom it was owed. God set the price and Christ paid it.
- Pastor Milton Howard

Free grace no more makes a person want to sin than health makes a person want to get sick again. The notion of sovereign grace giving people a license to sin is the foolish excuse of Pharisees who are not willing to give up their own righteousness. God forbid such talk. – Pastor Paul Mahan

When the widow cast in her two mites she was left with nothing. She was now completely dependent of the Lord to give her what she needed. What a blessed place to be!
