Sundays 9:00 am Channel 5 CWKYT
It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel.
HYMN OF THE DAY
Look upon me, Lord I pray Thee
Let Thy Spirit dwell in mine
Thou hast sought me, Thou hast bought me
Take my heart, and make it Thine.
Nought I ask for, nought I strive for
But Thy grace so rich and free
This Thou givest by the Savior
He hath all things who hath Thee.
Precious is the name of Jesus
Who can half its worth untold
Far beyond angelic praises
Sweetly sung to harps of gold.
Guide me, Oh Thou great Jehovah
Pilgrim through this barren land
I am weak, but Thou art mighty
Hold me with Thy powerful hand.
(Tune: “Jesus Calls Us” p.374)

“The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.” - Proverbs 19:11
“For whosoever shall be ashamed of Me and My words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed when He shall come in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels” (Luke 9:26).
The Person of Christ cannot be separated from His actual words, His doctrine, the things He said! To profess identification with the person of Christ but not the doctrine He declared is to be ashamed of His Person. If we are ashamed of Him and His words, and fail to confess Him before men, He will be ashamed of us on judgment day, and not confess our name before His Father. On the contrary, we are not ashamed of the Person and Words of Christ. We are proud of Him and them! His Words are the Words of God, worthy of God, and an expression of the mind and heart of God. We love His Person! We love His Words that tell us Who His Person is! May the Lord deliver us from ever being ashamed to be identified with Him and His Words.
A DOUBLE BLESSING
“Blessed is the man whom Thou choosest, and causest to approach unto Thee” (Psalm 65:4). What a blessing it is to be chosen of God. But it is a double blessing. All who are chosen of God are caused to approach or draw near unto God. The New Testament equivalent is John 6:37, “All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me.” God’s electing mercy is the reason men come to Christ. The evidence of divine election is this: those who have been elected are in a continual state of coming to Christ, and being caused to draw near to Him. Election never kept anybody from Christ. It is God’s fountainhead of mercy that brings men to Christ!
NO CHANGES, NO FEAR
“Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God” (Psalm 55:19). When men knowingly act contrary to Scripture, and nothing happens to them, they conclude all is well. There is nothing to fear. But, when in reality - nothing - is the worse thing that can happen! “Whom the Lord loveth, He chasteneth.” If I am not chastened, all that means is that I do not belong to the Lord. You do not chasten other peoples children, only your own. When the Lord Jesus comes to take His people home to be with Him they will enjoy His presence without sin or flesh for eternity. But we enjoy and delight in Him even now while in this world - we enjoy His presence, His Word, His forgiveness, His justification, His righteousness imputed to us. We greatly enjoy His intercession for us, and we especially enjoy the Gospel of free and sovereign grace that gives Him all the glory for the salvation He accomplished for all whom He died. What joy fills our hearts to know we are complete in Him, that we are without spot or blemish in Him, that our sins are gone, that He puts them all away by “The sacrifice of Himself”, and that God remembers them no more. Yes, we will enjoy Him through out eternity…but our enjoyment of Him starts here. – Pastor Donnie Bell
Have I then no work to work in this great matter of my pardon? None. What work canst thou work? What work of thine can buy forgiveness or make thee fit for the Divine favor? What work has God bidden thee work in order to obtain salvation? None. His Word is very plain and easy to be understood. “To him that worketh not, but believeth in Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness” (Romans 4:5). There is but one work by which a man can be saved. That work is not thine, but the work of the Son of God. This work is finished. – Horatius Bonar
A faulty message will produce faulty methods, and a man-centered message will produce man-pleasing methods. If God’s glory is not our aim, then man’s approval will be. For these reasons and more, we preach the Gospel, which is the power of God, and keep our methods in line with that Gospel. – Pastor Paul Mahan
Christ is all our righteousness. In the teeth of all thy sins, believe that He is thy righteousness still. Thy good works do not improve His righteousness; thy bad works do not stain it. This is a robe which the best deeds cannot mar. Thou standest in Him, not in thyself. Whatever, then, thy doubts and fears may have been, do now, poor troubled, distressed, distracted believer, say again, “Yes, He is the Lord my righteousness.”
- C. H. Spurgeon
