It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel

HYMN OF THE DAY
Sons we are, through God’s election
Who in Jesus Christ believe
By eternal destination
Sovereign grace we here receive
Lord Thy mercy, Lord Thy mercy
Doth both grace and glory give.

Every fallen soul, by sinning
Merits everlasting pain
But Thy love, without beginning
Has restored Thy sons again
All Thy people, All Thy people
Shall by grace through Jesus reign.

Pause my soul! Adore and wonder!
Ask, O why such love to me
Grace has put me in the number
Of the Saviour’s family
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Thanks, eternal thanks to Thee.

When the Angel sounds the trumpet
When my soul and body join
When my Saviour comes to judgment
Bright in majesty divine
Let me triumph, Let me triumph
In Thy righteousness as mine.

(Tune: “Angels From the Realms of Glory” p. 99)

WHO WILL BE IN HELL?
Hell is a real place that will have a large population. The Saviour spake more of it than anyone else. It will be absolute justice meted out. It will last forever. And it is a place of torments. The rich man said, “I am tormented in this flame.” Who will be in hell? Men from every walk of life, from every nation, culture, and race. And they will all have this in common…they did not believe the Gospel. Some indeed never heard the Gospel but rejected the light they did have. Some heard the Gospel and rejected it. But they all had no love for God, or His way of salvation by His Son. Whether outwardly moral and religious, or immoral and unreligious, they all believed salvation by works in some way. Who will be in hell? All who did not believe the Gospel, all who never called upon the name of the Lord, all who never cried for mercy. No doubt when they stand before Christ in judgment, they will be trembling in anticipation of their awful doom. But they had no love for Him during their life on earth. And they will have no love for Him then. So now they will be tormented in His presence eternally. Paul put it this way, “If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha” – damned upon the return of our Lord. Who will be in hell? Those with no love for the Lord’s Christ!

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

THE RIVER OF DEATH has been a terror to many; yea the thoughts of it have frightened me. But now, in Christ, I stand easy. I am going to see that HEAD which was crowned with thorns and that FACE which was spit upon for me. I go where I shall live by sight and be with Him whose company is my delight. I have loved to hear my Lord spoken of; now I am going to see Him. I have sent the print of His shoe upon the earth; now I am going to sit at His feet. I have read His Word; now I am going to hear His voice. I have beheld His world, beautiful, though with sin; now I am going to dwell in His heaven where sin can never enter. – John Bunyan

PRAYER
“…The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16). This speaks of our Lord, the only righteous man to ever walk this earth, and His great high priestly prayer in John 17. But it also speaks of the prayers of every believer that avail much, through the grace of our God…

They are effectual prayers, because our sovereign Father brings about His desired effect through His almighty power.
They are fervent prayers, because our Father has given us a new heart with a new fervency to serve our brothers and sisters in Christ.
They are the prayers of righteous men and women, made to be righteous when Christ took all our sin and gave us all His righteousness.

Our prayers avail much, because our sufficiency is of God, and not of self.We have the ear of Almighty God our Father, making believers to be the most powerful men and women on the face of this earth. May God give us grace to use His power for good, in bringing sinners to hear of the free salvation in Christ. – Brian DuFour

MORE SWEETER
If you’ve listened to our pastor over the last few years, you have more than likely heard him use this phrase concerning the salvation of his soul by the free grace of God… “Everything God requires of me, He looks to Christ for!” Our spirit rejoices every time we hear of God looking to Christ and not to us, so that free grace becomes more sweeter the more I hear of it. I realize that is bad English, but when it comes to spiritual things, sometimes good English just don’t cut it.

Beloved, our Lord knows how to reach the inaccessible persons; they may shut us out, but they cannot shut HIM out….I want you to get fast hold on this thought if you can, and I beg you to hide it away in your hearts, THAT JESUS CHRIST IS BEYOND MEASURE ABLE TO SAVE. We do not half believe it; we think we do, but we do not even a tenth believe it, for when we meet with a rather hard case we are ready to give up in despair.
- C. H. Spurgeon
