It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel
Jesus, the Lord, my Savior is
My Shepherd and my God
My light, my life, my joy, my bliss
I in His grace rejoice.
What’er I need in Jesus dwells
And there it dwells for me
‘Tis Christ my earthen vessel fills
With treasure rich and free.
Mercy and truth and righteousness
And peace most richly meet
In Jesus Christ, the King of grace
In Whom I stand complete.
Worthy the Lamb, shall be my song
For He for me was slain
And with me all the heav’nly throng
Shall join and say “Amen”!
(Tune: “Begin, My Tongue, Some Heavenly Theme” p. 5)
If you would like to help missionary Joseph Murphy with the purchase of a vehicle, it would be greatly appreciated as his present car has very high mileage and is in need of much repair. Mark your gift accordingly.
We extend our sympathy to Carolyn Kelley, Courtney Howard, and their family on the death of Carolyn’s father.

“There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.”
- Proverbs 11:24-25
This took place right after the fall. “The woman whom Thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree and I did eat.” In saying this, Adam implied that if God had not given him the woman, this would not have taken place. In other words, it was God’s fault that Adam sinned.
This sin pops up everywhere. It speaks in many ways. God is sovereign in salvation and there is nothing I can do to save myself. Therefore I will do nothing. The Lord could have prevented me from committing that sin but He didn’t. If the Lord would answer this prayer and give me what I am asking for it would enable me to fight more effectively against this sin. Regarding a questionable direction we decide to take, we say, the Lord opened that door, and we walk through it.
Regarding salvation, blame God completely! If I am saved, He saved me. But with regard to my sin, I only am to blame. “Let no man say when he is tempted. I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth He any man: but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Do not err, my beloved brethren.” (James 1:13-16)
QUESTIONS REGARDING GROWTH
Peter said, “Beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.” (II Peter 3:17). And what will prevent this from happening? “But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (II Peter 3:18). Every believer desires to grow in grace. We are to grow downward in true humility, upward in our love to God, and outward in our love to men. Here are 10 questions that serve as a gauge for growth in grace and spiritual maturity.
1. Have I learned to rest in the Lord?
2. How do I respond to trial and disappointment?
3. How do I respond to correction?
4. Do I have the capacity to change or am I set in my ways? There is always change involved in growth.
5. Is it difficult for me to say words like…I am sorry?
6. Do I compliment more or criticize more?
7. Can I keep long friendships?
8. Do I get more satisfaction in giving or receiving?
9. Has my appetite for the Word increase?
10. Do I really love the Lord and His people?
While we do not feel as though we measure up enough in any of these things…we desire to and pray for growth in grace.
Somebody says, “It is not Christ I doubt, but myself.” Nice try. But that is still nothing more than unbelief. Unbelief calls God a liar. That is nothing more than a pious way of calling God a liar. Faith does not have to do with self anyway. It has to do with Christ.
A doctrine is not true because I believe it or because you believe it, it is true only if God says it! I do not ask whether you believe what I preach; perhaps you do not. But I ask you to search the Scriptures and determine whether these things be so. I am not afraid to submit my belief in God’s immutable sovereignty, man’s total fall and ruin, God’s elective grace, Christ’s effectual atonement, the Spirit’s INVINCIBLE CALL, and the perseverance of the sheep TO THE WORD OF GOD! -Pastor Henry Mahan
Weak faith is true faith – as precious though not so great, as strong faith. The same Holy Spirit is the author, the same Gospel the instrument, the same Redeemer the object, and if that faith never proves great, yet weak faith saves! For it is not the strength of faith that condemns, but the want of it; for the least faith lays hold of Christ. And we are not saved by the worth nor quantity of faith, but by Christ Jesus, our Lord. – John Rogers
After some years of experience, the Christian comes to know, better than he did at first, how much the Gospel suits him. He finds that its simplicity suits his bewilderment; its grace suits his sinfulness; its power is suitable to his weakness; its comfort is suitable to his despondency; and the more he grows, the more he loves the Gospel of the grace of God.
- C. H. Spurgeon
There is no peace of any kind until there is peace with God. Men and women suffer from depression and anxiety, which results in all manner of illness, because they are guilty sinners without God and hope in this world. David’s assurance came from knowing that his sins were forgiven in Christ, the Sacrifice, and that this mighty God therefore loved him and cared for him. – Pastor Chris Cunningham
