It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel.

Father of heav’n whose love profound
A ransom for our souls hath found
Before Thy throne we sinners bend
To us Thy pardoning love extend.

Almighty Son, Incarnate Word
Our Prophet, Priest, Redeemer, Lord
Before Thy throne we sinners bend
To us Thy saving grace extend.

Eternal Spirit, by whose breath
The soul is raised from sin and death
Before Thy throne we sinners bend
To us Thy quickening power extend.

Jehovah! Father, Spirit, Son
Mysterious God-head, Three in One
Before Thy throne we sinners bend
Grace, pardon, life to us extend.

(Tune: “Doxology”)

The V.A. Hospital is in need of volunteers to sit with veterans and give relief to their care-givers. No hands on care is involved, only conversation. Information and a sign-up sheet is in the foyer.

“He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.” - Proverbs 10:4

Peter wrote, “Now for a season, if need be, you are in heaviness through manifold temptation.” Believer, if you are in heaviness and depression because of the trials and temptations in your life, remember, there is a “need be” of these very trials that make you heavy. They are what you need, given by God for your good and His glory. That is why James said, “Count it all joy when you fall into diverse temptations.” We do not rejoice in the trials themselves, but we rejoice in Him who sent them and His wise and gracious purpose in sending them. This is why we are to “in everything give thanks”….even give thanks for the trail, for “This is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” This trial and temptation is God’s will for you, to work for your good and His glory!

Justification means I have no sin before God’s holy law. I am debt-free before the law. Being debt free, how greatly indebted I am to the grace of God given to me wholly for Christ’s sake. And I am a debtor to all men to tell them how they can be debt free. If a man discovered a cure for cancer, and failed to tell men about the cure, he would be an evil man. For a man to know something infinitely greater…how a sinner can be just before a holy God, and fail to tell men is unconscionable! Being debt free, we are debtors to God and debtors to men to tell them how we are made debt free! Truly, this is a pleasing debt.

The best way to hold fast the truth is to live upon it as a Christian. If you attempt to keep it anywhere but in your heart, it will fly away. If it be merely in your memory, it is not safe. He that is reasoned into the truth may be reasoned out of it. It is LIVING UPON THE TRUTH as a Christian that will cause the heart to be established with grace. – Scott Richardson

Romans 9:16-18
If you receive the Bible as the Word of God, you have no choice; you must believe the doctrine of election. If you believe the Bible, you have to take it all as the Word of God. You cannot say, “I believe what the Bible teaches about heaven; but I just cannot accept the idea of hell.” You cannot say, “I believe in God; but I simply cannot believe in election.” Election is so much a part of divine truth, that it cannot be expunged from the Book of God without completely destroying the Word of God. It is taught in Genesis, in Revelation, and everywhere between. To deny the doctrine of election is to deny the Word of God, reject the religion of Jesus Christ, and to engage in the practice of utter atheism; for the denial of election is the denial of the God of election! Yes, you read that right. I said the denial of election is a denial of God! It is a denial of His sovereignty. It denies that God has the right to do with His own what He will. Those who deny election deny God’s government of the world and His right to govern. – Pastor Don Fortner

“Forget injustices and neglect, but never forget a kindness, nor an act of love.” I saw this on a wall. The author, whoever he may be, touched my heart and caused me to pray, “Lord, oh help me to do just that!” Help me to actually, absolutely blot out of my mind all unpleasantries, every bad disagreement, and remember only the good times, the kind words, and the acts of love. Let me, in reference to every injustice and neglect, like my Lord, REMEMBER THEM NO MORE! “And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more” (Hebrews 10:17). – Pastor Henry Mahan

If we truly believe God, we will serve Him with confidence and peace, simply trusting His total sovereignty, power, wisdom, and grace. The fear of man shall not be a threat to us. The favor of man shall not be a motive to us. The circumstances of the hour shall not pressure us, and the desire for results shall not alter our message nor cause us to employ the popular methods of others. If we believe God, we will simply perform our responsibilities faithfully and wait upon the Lord to work His purpose according to His will. – Pastor Don Fortner
